Paris Review has tweeted this interview with Styron – take a look. What draws me to this link today is that he talks about how he doesn’t really value writing classes. Guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder. I will say that part of my skepticism about Writing Programs is the money-making angle. Now my little teaching job is not a true money-maker – I could probably make up the money by clipping grocery coupons but maybe it is for the schools.
